Matariki

Matariki is the Maori name for a group of seven stars called the Pleiades star cluster or the seven sisters. Matariki has always been an important time in the Maori calendar. The Maori New Year signal is a time for connecting with and giving thanks to the land,sea and sky. Matariki is all about getting involved so join the celebrations taking place.

Millions Celebrate Chinese New Year

Festivals has already begun all around the world for Chinese New year. The people of China  often check the celebration which is also well known as the spring festival with fire works and family feasts. The Chinese Calendar 2016 is the year of the monkey. 

What is Chinese New Year?
Chinese New Year is a celebration that most people often celebrate. This year it’s the Year of the Monkey, the ninth animal in the cycle. There a 12 animals people celebrate each year in the Chinese calendar.
