Sunday Afternoon
Last week Sunday was a very special occasion for the people who go to church. This special religious occasion was White Sunday. It basically means everyone has to wear white to church. In some churches kids age 3 years old-11 year old present their presentations in their white beautiful dresses.
At White Sunday there were group singing and solo singers. The occasion took 2 hours. It was held at a Mormon Chapel on Taniwha Street. After the presentations were finish the kids and youth went into a room where we could eat and have a big feast.
The kids had finger foods like hot chips, sausages, nuggets, drinks, fruit pops, fruit sticks and heaps more. My family friends and member had a umu. In the umu it included chicken, lamb, pork, Lu, yams, corn, chop suey and more.

TECHNICRAFT
Yesterday Wednesday the senior block from Ruapotaka School went to Tamaki College for tech (technicraft). For technicraft there are 4 stations with different projects for example wood craft, food craft😋 and drawing craft. There are also 4 different teachers who are Mr Grundy, Mr Pineda and Ms Tuipiulotu. The station im at, at the moment is wood craft. I enjoy making different things. My project right now is making a stained glass blue clear crystal diamond🔷. There are steps to making this. The steps are Cut,Grind,Foil, buff and tin. I really can't wait till my project is finish.
Here is an example picture of how my stained glass will look like.

🎈The Holidays🎈
In the holidays I went to my niece and cousins birthday. They both had the same birthday but my cousin had hers a day after my niece. For the two birthdays my uncles and cousins made an Umu a traditional underground oven. Islanders make Umus for special occasions. We put yam and different kind of meats. The food was cooking underground while two pigs were cooked on the top. This is another traditional way of cooking pig. But first of all my uncle took out the guts and the stomach that was in the pig and also cleaned it. While the men and boys cooked the meat my aunties and mum made salads, goodie bags, set up the table and the barberque. At 2:00 pm the party started a lot of family members, friends and church people came to the birthday they brought shoes, clothes more presents, food and a lot of money for my niece and cousin. It was a tiring day but I had lots of fun. The birthday was held at the backyard of my aunties.
